Geminids

no one’s as human

as you are

you know that you are

the most other

how can I compete

with yourself

the world is full of signs

if you are looking for signs

see the sky like a dark

canopy tented

with an ineffable

linchpin

see the sky like a bowl

with the geminids

white seeds plummeting

around the basin

one quick wish

make it good

have you ever felt

the edge

of another’s loneliness

looming at you

like an unlooked

-for shore

like an iceberg

in the otherwise

empty empty sea

what is that

vast continent

and how can I

I have

star-gazing

is a trying

is a sending at

some vague coast

and the geminids

like flares

some light to see by
